The Iberdrola Tower, designed for Iberdrola as its new headquarters, is the protagonist of the project for the revitalization of the Abandoibarra area in the city of Bilbao.

It is an exponent of sustainable architecture that was the first LEED Platinum certified building in Core&Shell and Interiors in Europe.

The tower gives a symbolic end to the urban axis of the Elcano diagonal and, with its 165 meters high, becomes a landmark in the Bilbao sky. Its volumetry is shaped like a triangular prism with curved faces slightly tapered towards the sky, suggesting a large glass obelisk. The projections of the vertices of this prism are symbolically joined at a height of 1,000 meters. The facades, composed of a double skin of glass, offer a sustainable solution, efficient thermal control and wide views of the city and the estuary.

The 95,000 m2 tower sits in the park of Campa de Los Ingleses and is flanked by two lower residential buildings that help define the Plaza Euskadi. It is accessed through a large glazed space that opens onto the square between the two buildings.

  • The project was carried out in collaboration with PCP Architects.
  • Active façade acts as a thermal buffer
  • The landscaped lobby of spectacular dimensions welcomes the visitor.
