Torre Serrano is a 14-storey rectangular building in Madrid, located on Calle Serrano, on which a comprehensive rehabilitation of the facade has been carried out, providing it with a change of image, improved comfort for users and compliance with the CTE. The façade change has favored an increase in both acoustic and thermal performance, as well as a radical change of image that positions it as one of the most prime assets in Madrid. The system used is a modular aluminum façade prefabricated in a workshop with a high performance glass with a very low solar factor (17%) that guarantees good solar protection. A dynamic perception of the building is achieved through the reflections of the glass and the incorporation of silkscreen printing and textures in the lining of the perimeter pillars, a dynamic vibration of the facade that varies with the position of the sun throughout the day. The facade rehabilitation works have been carried out with the building in use, i.e. the offices have maintained their activity while the works were being executed from the outside.
