Ortiz.León Arquitectos rehabilitates the fantastic Portal de l’Ángel building in Barcelona.

This renovation will transform a wonderful historic building into retail and office spaces with the highest quality and trends that will be a reference in the city.

Redevco and Ares signed one of the most important investment operations in the Catalan retail sector last year when they bought the El Corte Inglés building on Portal de l’Angel street in Barcelona, one of the most important shopping areas in the city, for 200 million euros.

“The property offers an attractive investment opportunity given its location, on a prime commercial street, with high tourist traffic, and superb connectivity for office users.”

The project is a mix of office and retail space to “transform the historic property into a sustainable mixed-use building with prime retail floors and state-of-the-art office floors”.

Ortiz.León Arquitectos are in charge of repositioning the emblematic building, which has a total surface area of 18,000 square meters, to update it and turn it into a landmark asset in the center of Barcelona.
